To see Berlin even when you only have a day means that you have to see the Brandenburg Gate or walked through it.

The Brandenburg Gate - the gate of fate, symbol of victories and defeats from 1961 onwards, symbol of the wall building and a divided Berlin, after the fall of the wall in 1989, reopened on the 22.12.1989, planed by Langhans and in 1791 as one of 14 town gates opened. It is also Berlin's only surviving gate.

Today, the Brandenburg Gate is once more imbedded in the new construction of the Paris Square.

The Paris Square used to be one of the most noble residential addresses and loveliest square ensembles. Now banks and embassies reside at the Paris Square.

The houses of Liebermann and Sommer, which border immediately on the right and left of the Brandenburg Gate were newly constructed after historic example.

Newly reopened was also the building of Akademie der Künste (Academy of Art). The exhibition halls, which survived the war unscathed, were integrated into the very modern glass and transparent building.

The hotel Adlon was rebuilt in the style of the old hotel and acts as a reminder of the grand buildings in this square.

The US-Embassy is still in the process of construction.
