Sculpture 'Berlin'

On the occasion of the Berlin 750-year city jubilee in 1987, the Neue Berliner Kunstverein presented under the motto 'Sculpture Boulevard Kurfürstendamm/Tauentzien' a series of modern sculptures, which were installed on several crossings of Kurfürstendamm and Tauentzienstraße. On the road section between Marburger Straße and Nürnberger Straße, on the central reservation is the sculpture 'Berlin' by Brigitte and Martin Matschinsky-Denninghoff placed. The sculpture depicts the separation of Berlin. Two years later, the wall had fallen and the once divided city was again united.
